Q:

What are the signs that my baby's diaper needs changing?

Hi everyone,

I'm a new mom and I'm still getting used to all the things that come with taking care of a baby. One thing I'm not sure about is when to change my baby's diaper. I know that it needs to be changed when it's dirty, but sometimes I'm not sure if it's dirty or just wet.

Can anyone tell me the signs to look out for to know when my baby's diaper needs changing? I don't want to leave it on too long and risk giving my baby diaper rash, but I also don't want to change it unnecessarily and go through too many diapers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Hi!

I'm a mother of two and I completely understand your dilemma. When I was a new mom, I had the same questions about when to change my baby's diaper. I quickly learned that there are some tell-tale signs that you can look out for.

Firstly, if the diaper is really heavy or sagging, then it's likely that it's wet and needs to be changed. Secondly, if you see any redness or irritation around your baby's diaper area, then it's possible that the diaper needs to be changed more frequently to avoid a rash. Finally, if your baby is fussy or irritable, even after being fed and burped, it's worth checking to see if the diaper needs changing.

Remember that every baby is different, so it might take a bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for you and your little one. I hope this helps!
