What are some tips for storing and organizing toddler clothing, shoes, and accessories?

Hi everyone!

As a new mom to a toddler, I am looking for some tips on how to store and organize my child's clothes, shoes, and accessories. I am finding that as he grows, there are so many items to keep track of and I want to make sure that things are easy to find and access.

I currently have a small dresser and closet to work with, but I am open to other storage solutions if necessary. Any tips on how to effectively use these spaces or suggestions for alternate storage options would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, I am interested in ideas for how to organize things like socks, hats, and other small items.

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hello there!

As a mom of a toddler boy, I have tried many organizing solutions to keep his clothes and accessories in order. I found that using dresser drawers can sometimes lead to a chaotic mess, especially when you are short on time. What helped me keep things in order is using smaller plastic bins to organize his clothes by categories.

I also found that using hanging organizers maximize the closet space and keeps things well-organized. You can find hanging storage spaces of different sizes that give you the flexibility to arrange clothes and accessories according to your need. I find it helpful to hang clothes according to seasons, so fall/winter clothes are in one section while spring/summer clothes are kept in another.

Lastly, I keep shoes in a cubby shoe organizer. It just makes it easy for both my son and me to locate the desired pair of shoes. To keep small items like hats, belts, and socks, I use small storage boxes labeling each box according to its contents.

Hope these tips help you stay organized!

Hello all,

I have recently become a mom of a toddler and have been searching for ways to keep his stuff organized. While browsing online, I found an interesting idea that has been working well for me, which is using a rolling cart with drawers. It can store clothes, shoes, and accessories, and because it is on wheels, it can be easily moved from room to room when necessary.

Another idea I found useful is to use a hanging closet organizer with clear pockets to keep smaller items like socks, hats, and mittens organized and easy to find. You can even use it for storing larger items like shoes!

For open shelving, I use a closet divider to separate clothes by size. It makes it simple to know what fits and when it is time to donate clothes that are too small. I also use labels to organize these shelves according to type of clothing to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Lastly, to prevent dirty laundry from piling up and taking over the room, I keep a woven hamper in the corner of the room. It is big enough to hold several loads of laundry, and its open design and handles make it easy to carry laundry to the washing machine.

I hope these ideas help someone looking for ways to stay organized with toddler clothes, shoes, and accessories.

Hi there!

As a mom with a toddler, I understand it could be frustrating to keep everything organized sometimes. One thing that really helped me was to create a capsule wardrobe for my child. This means having a set number of clothing items that are all interchangeable with each other, making it easy to mix and match, and always have a put-together outfit ready.

To store these items, I use fabric cubes that fit on the shelves of my child's closet. I have one box for tops, one for pants, and one for dresses/skirts. This setup helps me to quickly locate and grab a complete outfit. For hangers, I purchased slim, velvet, non-slip hangers that take up less closet space and prevent clothes from sliding off.

As for shoes, I use a low-profile wire rack that attaches to the inside of the closet door. It's perfect for keeping sneakers, sandals, and other footwear off the ground, and easy to access for quick changes. For smaller items such as socks and hats, I keep them in a drawer divider or a plastic bin with a lid to keep them easily accessible and dust-free.

I hope these tips will come in handy for someone!

Hey there!

I feel your pain as I have a toddler, and I know how challenging it can be to keep up with all of their clothes, shoes, and accessories. One way that I have found to be truly helpful is to hang their clothes that they use the most frequently. I use hanging organizers behind the door or attachable fabric shelves. You can then group similar items together, and toss t-shirts, sweaters, and pyjamas in one section, and pants in another, so you can easily find something for your toddler to wear.

I also use small-scale hangers for their clothes and fold items when the space is limited. Consider donating what doesn't fit or things you don't use often/ anymore to free up space. For storage boxes, I have found Lidded Storage Boxes helpful as they are stackable and durable. When placed on the closet shelf, it maximizes the space and doesn't take up a lot of room. Additionally, labeling the boxes or sections of the hanging organizers can help keep things organized.

I hope this helps!

Hi there!

As a mom of two toddlers, I completely understand the struggle of keeping things organized. One thing that has been a game-changer for me is using drawer dividers to separate and organize my kids' clothing. This allows us to easily see what we have and find what we need without making a mess.

For shoes, we use a shoe rack that sits on the floor of the closet. It keeps everything off the ground and organized by type (e.g. sandals, sneakers).

As for small items like socks and hats, I've found that using clear plastic bins or baskets is really helpful. We have one bin for socks, one for hats, and one for sunglasses and other accessories. Having everything in its designated spot makes getting ready in the morning so much easier.

Hope these tips help!

Hello everyone,

Keeping toddler clothes, shoes and accessories organized has been a challenge for me as well, but I found a few things that have helped. Firstly I installed hooks on the back of their closet doors. They are great for hanging up hats, belts, bags, even coats or sweaters, and they don't take up much space.

For shoes, I found that using a pegboard is a great solution. We use a peg board to hang all of our child's footwear. This way, you can easily see all the shoes you have and make a quick decision on what to wear. It's an inexpensive way to keep things off the floor and reduce clutter.

Another way I organize my toddler’s clothing is by setting up baskets according to the day of the week. Mondays clothing will be in the Monday basket, similarly for the rest of the days. It saves me so much time in the morning, especially when I need to get ready quickly.

Lastly, I keep all of our seasonal clothing in storage bins that are labeled. That way, the clothes are not taking up space in our closet and it is extremely easy to find what you need when the season changes.

I hope these ideas help someone out!

Hello everyone!

As a mom of three little ones, I know firsthand how important it is to keep things organized, especially when it comes to clothes and accessories. One thing that has worked well for me is using a hanging canvas closet organizer for my kids' clothes. Each child has their own section, which makes it easy to sort through and find things quickly.

For shoes, I use a plastic shoe rack that fits right under the hanging organizer. It keeps the shoes off the ground and organized by type, so we can easily choose the perfect pair for any occasion. It is a great way to save floor space in your closet while keeping the shoes easily accessible.

For smaller items like hair accessories, I use a plastic storage container with compartments. It is easy to see the different items and grab what I need quickly.

In addition, I label everything using a label maker, from the hanging organizer to the storage containers. This makes it easy for everyone in the family to find and put back items where they belong, making the organization system easy to maintain.

I hope these tips help someone else struggling with toddler clothing and accessories organization!

As another mom of a toddler, I can say that keeping things organized is quite a task. But, I found that investing in clear stackable plastic drawers has been a game-changer for me. You can purchase drawers of varying sizes according to your preferences, and the clear material allows you to easily see what's in each one, which is perfect for small items like accessories.

For shoes, I found using an over-the-door shoe organizer to be helpful. It's an efficient way to keep shoes accessible and off the floor, leaving more space in your closet. I also use a basket for my toddler's outdoor shoes, so they don't get mixed up or lost with his indoor shoes.

Another simple tip that has worked wonders for me is color-coding hangers. Each color represents a specific type of clothing, making it easier to locate specific clothing pieces quickly. I hang these on hooks or over the door organizers for an added touch of organization.

I hope these tips help you keep your toddler's clothes, shoes, and accessories organized!
