Hi fellow babywearers,
I've recently started babywearing and I absolutely love it! However, I want to make sure that I am practicing safe babywearing techniques to ensure the safety and comfort of my little one. I was wondering if you could share some common mistakes to avoid when babywearing? I want to make sure that I am doing everything correctly and not putting my baby at any risk. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Hi!
One of the most common mistakes I personally made when I first started babywearing was not ensuring that my baby was in the proper position. I didn't realize that the position of the baby can greatly affect their comfort and safety. I would recommend making sure that you are following the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines for any carrier you use. Also, make sure that your baby is always in an upright position with their airways clear and their chin off their chest to prevent suffocation.
Another mistake I made was not keeping an eye on my baby's temperature. Wearing a carrier can cause your body heat to transfer to your baby and they can sometimes overheat. I learned to dress my baby appropriately for the weather and to always check for signs of discomfort or overheating.
I hope these personal experiences help you as well!
