Q:

What are some books that have been popular with other parents of babies?

Hello fellow parents!

I am a new parent to a beautiful baby, and I am trying to learn as much as I can about raising a child. I know that there are many parenting books out there, but I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for books that have been popular with other parents of babies?

I am interested in books that cover topics such as nurturing and development, sleep training, feeding, and any other important aspects of raising a healthy and happy baby.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Hi everyone,

As a father of a 10-month-old son, I found "The Whole-Brain Child" by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson very helpful. This book explains how the brain develops and how to use this knowledge to help your child thrive. It teaches parents how to connect with their child and promote emotional intelligence while dealing with tantrums and other tough moments of parenting.

Another book that I would recommend is "The 5 Love Languages of Children" by Gary Chapman and Ross Campbell. This book explores the different ways children show and receive love and explains how parents can use this knowledge to build stronger and healthier relationships with their children.

I hope these suggestions help other parents on their journey!

Hi there!

As a parent of a 8-month-old baby, I highly recommend "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Harvey Karp. It provides great insights into the "4th Trimester" period of a newborn's life and how to soothe a fussy baby. The book also offers techniques for swaddling, shushing, and swinging which I found very helpful in calming my baby down.

Additionally, "Bringing Up Bébé" by Pamela Druckerman is another great book that offers a different perspective on parenting through the French approach. It emphasizes on the importance of teaching babies to self-soothe, sleeping habits, and creating a structured parenting routine. I found this book very informative and it ultimately helped me establish a routine with my baby.

Hope these suggestions help!

Hello there,

I have two kids, and "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Marc Weissbluth was a lifesaver for us. This book offers practical guidance on how to establish healthy sleep habits, solve sleep issues including night waking, and provides clear information on how much sleep a baby needs during different stages of development.

Another book I found extremely useful was "Oh Crap! Potty Training" by Jamie Glowacki. It is a comprehensive guide to help parents navigate the potty-training process, and offers a step-by-step approach to getting rid of diapers and achieving potty success.

I hope these recommendations help, happy reading!

Hey parent friends,

As a mother of twin girls, I would love to recommend "On Becoming Baby Wise" by Gary Ezzo and Robert Bucknam. This book offers a schedule and routine for feeding and sleeping for babies, that helped me establish a predictable and dependable environment for my babies.

Moreover, "The Baby Book" by William Sears and Martha Sears was a lifesaver for me as it covered all the bases from breastfeeding to sleeping habits to baby gear recommendations and many more. I found this book very informative and it has become my go-to reference for baby-related questions.

I hope my recommendations help other parents as these books have helped me in raising happy and healthy babies.
